What’s their
So why do I fish there? Well with an on site café offering plenty of food options and drink before fishing and a fully stocked Preston backed tackle shop where you will need to buy your blue fishery feed pellets, this venue has all that you need. There is a choice of 9 pools to fish and after a great breakfast you will be set up up for a great days fishing. All the pools look fantastic due to a blue dye that’s added into the water. All the pegs are made from concrete with plenty of room for your tackle and most pegs benefit from having a tree or bush before the next peg. In fact it’s a well thought out fishery. It’s kept really tidy and its very picturesque. Although you can’t park behind your peg it’s generally only a short walk to your peg with your tackle.
All the pools at Woodland View have mixed stocking with plenty of carp, F1’s, Tench, Perch, Roach and Skimmers to be caught. Front and Back Deans along with High and Arles pool are the main pools used in the weekly open matches plus Ghost, Hay and Barley pools get a lot of use. All the normal tactics work well whether your targeting the F1’s, Carp or silvers on the pole or with rods. Generally the fish can be caught on a long pole line before coming in closer later in the match on a top kit line with pellets or maggots. The margins can produce some big carp in the summer months. In the winter months when things get a little harder High pool being the deepest pool, around 8 to 10 foot deep can give you a good winter catch, where as the other pools range from 4 to 6 foot depths and can be a little harder. If Open matches are you’re your thing, these are well run and attended and well worth a visit.
