Evesham is a place famed for it’s river fishing over the years, having the UK’s premier river fishing festival and qualifiers for the Evesham angling Festival during the August bank holiday weekend each year and living in Evesham I should be fishing rivers. (Read my blog on Evesham’s river fishing history) However I enjoy my fishing on Commercial fisheries around the local area. I’m blessed to have many leading venues to fish within an hours drive of my home town of Evesham. Manor Farm Leisure, Hillview, Woodland View, Tunnel Farm Barn to name a few! I really am spoilt for choice.

This is why I don’t just travel to one venue to fish week in and week out like many other anglers. Preferring to visit many of these fisheries local to me. I mainly fish their open matches and a bit of pleasure fishing at times.

This can be good as I can pick and choose my venues after reading weekly match reports on social media about which venues are fishing good or bad at the moment. This can help to put more fish in my keep nets but the one draw back is that I don’t consider myself to be a venue expert. Many of these “venue experts” live and breath just on one venue, often fishing it several times a week without fishing anywhere else. They are really “switched on” to the venue which then in turn makes it difficult for me to compete with them.

But I like to travel around and fish these different venues, fishing different styles and methods which in turn helps me to become a better all round angler and much better in my eyes than sitting on the same pool every weekend.

So within these “Venues I fish” pages I give a little information about the venue and list my recent match blogs on the pages. This gives anglers that haven’t fished these venues before a little bit of information on the venue if they are trolling the internet looking for venues to fish in the Worcestershire area.
