To win an open match at a Commercial fishery is a big deal. Much harder to win than a small knock up between your mates or a club match.
The standard of anglers fishing these types of matches can be very high and may include sponsored anglers which will be hard to beat. You really need to be prepared for disappointment as a commercial open match win can take years before this achievement finally happens. Drawing on the right peg on the right day given the weather conditions and time of year is only half the winning chance your draw arm has given you. You still have to catch the fish on the right method for this given day. This needs a great deal of thought and preparation to get it right and to beat the many local venue experts who fish the same venue week in and week out and know it inside out. When success comes there is no better feeling and it makes all those bad draws and bad matches just a distant memory!
