Hillview open today split over Moorhen and Heron, drew on Moorhen 19 and had a lovely winter days fishing with no wind and rain for a change. So fished maggot on the long pole for most of the day to win the section with 66lb 70lb won it and kicking myself for loosing a big fish at the net that would have got me over the line! Hillview for the open today split over all 4 canals, drew canal 4 not the best canal at the moment but an end peg 95. Fishing was hard, struggled first 4 hours but then my short maggot line came good for the last hour to weigh in 38lb for the section win Hillview for the Sunday open on canals 3 & 4. Wanted 3 as the best at the moment, drew 89 middle of canal 4, Dobbing Bread over for first hr for a few then soft pellet short for few more and finishing maggot down the track, very cold and not much feeding but managed the section win by a whole oz ! With 34lb 12oz Deja Vu at Hillview today, same peg as last weeks 2nd place on the open with 109lb. This week 2nd again with 119lb 2nd at Hillview today with 110lb with 114lb winning it, so close match, needed a couple more, a few on soft 4mm but switched to maggot which was much better, maggot seasons here HIllview open today all on Heron, slow start one F1 on pellet after first hour, been priming top kit line with corn, dropped on it 1.5hr in, game changer weighed in 113lb to win the match Corn Stores charity match today at Lower Park Fishery, 47 fishing today, drew Spring pool peg 12, weighed in 57lb 10oz for a section win To hot for fishing so a nice stroll down to the rowing club for breakie over looking the river before it gets to hot. Fishings great but don’t let it rule your life!! Lovely day out today at Hillview on the Heron pool coaching carp angler turned new match angler Brian. We spent the day fishing hard pellets on the long and short pole, ending up in the margins. A tricky day considering the high pressure with not many fish wanting to feed early on but once we’d made some changes to his set up and with careful feeding which we had to change as the day processed the bites came thick and fast. I hope you enjoyed your day Brian and you went home a lot wiser!!
